About

This artwork is part of the Montreal’s Great Artists series, which aims to honour the contributions of the city’s brightest creative minds. Montrealers by birth or by choice, their work has left an indelible mark on a wide variety of artistic disciplines at local, national and international levels.

It is also part of our plan to create a circuit of murals based on the performing arts in the heart of Montreal’s Centre-Sud neighbourhood. The circuit includes murals completed in 2016 paying tribute to the founders of Théâtre de Quat’sous and Janine Sutto.

Dominique Desbiens and Bruno Rouyère created this mural to celebrate Clémence Desrochers’ 60-year-long acting career and her retirement from the stage. It was based on a photo by Martin Alarie and a poem by Clémence Desrochers.
