About

With mosaic artist Laurence petit, MU transformed the urban furniture of housing complex Îlots St-Martin by creating and producing five concrete public benches covered with mosaic, as well as transforming the site’s eight outdoor flowerpots. 350 residents participated to the mosaic projects and the embellishment of their neighborhood by attending MU’s free workshops, offered daily during the summer in the BUMP’s quarters. This project was developed in partnership with the community groups of Little Burgundy, known for the vitality and dynamism of its residents.

The design of the mosaic artworks Vibrations was inspired by sound waves and its colors and patterns resonate the ones of the mural, as homage to Jazz music. Caroline Simard, Samantha Petrella, Marc-André Jutras and Corinne Lachance assisted the mosaic artist throughout the completion of the mural and the mosaic workshops.
